Our Lavender Hydrosol is a secondary product created when we distill lavandula angustifolia.

What is Hydrosol?

Hydrosols are liquid plant extracts that are aromatic and have therapeutic properties. Not all hydrosols are the same: they vary in color, taste, aroma, pH and chemical constituents. Depending on the time of year our lavender is harvested affects the aroma. Early harvest {Spring} has more of a sweet green tone. Later harvest { towards Fall} has a less green tone more sweet tone. Ph is 5 .

Our process

We distill our lavender in copper stills. Water is heated in the boiler. Once the water reaches the boiling point steam is created. The steam travels up into the chamber which holds the lavender. The steam penetrates the lavender flowers and continues into the condenser carrying with it the essential oil. Once it passes through the condenser it cools down and turns into a liquid. The liquid is collected in a separator. The separator separates the essential oil from the Hydrosol.

Uses

Because Hydrosol is not as concentrated as essential oil, most are safe to use directly for skin applications. As always, test on your skin in one area before continued use.

Great for soothing sunburn, minor cuts and abrasions, bug bites, rashes, acne, and other skin irratations. Can be used in combination with facials
